There is something magical about letting kids simply be kids, and this Tunnel Springs family session was the perfect reminder of that. Instead of worrying about perfect poses, we embraced the adventure, slowed down, and let the evening unfold naturally.

This sweet family of four spent the evening exploring the beautiful hills of Tunnel Springs Park in North Salt Lake with their two energetic little boys. From the moment we started, the boys were on a mission to chase grasshoppers through the tall summer grass. We ran up rolling hills, searched for bugs, laughed until our cheeks hurt, and paused often for snuggles and quiet moments together.

Those in-between moments are always my favorite.

As a Utah family photographer, my goal isn't to create stiff, perfectly posed portraits. I want your gallery to feel like your family—the way your kids giggle when they discover something exciting, the way they instinctively reach for your hand, and the way you all laugh together when nobody is trying to be perfect.

Tunnel Springs is one of my favorite locations for family photography in Utah because it gives families room to breathe. The open fields, golden grasses, and scenic mountain views create the perfect backdrop while giving little ones plenty of space to explore. Sessions here feel less like standing for photos and more like going on a family adventure.

For this family, that adventure meant chasing grasshoppers, racing to the top of hills, and soaking in every little moment together. The boys' curiosity led the way, and their parents embraced every second of it. Those genuine interactions are what make photographs meaningful years from now.
